The Commercial Real Estate Brokerage Association of Greater Washington (CREBA) held its annual awards ceremony last night and JLL was honored in four top categories.
Elizabeth Cooper took home the prestigious “James L. Eichberg Broker of the Year Award” which should come as no surprise to anyone who knows Elizabeth. As an inspiring leader and mentor, she’s consistently ranked Top Gun, is Executive Sponsor of JLL’s Women’s Business Network, co-chairs JLL’s Global Firm Group and still finds time to mentor both within JLL and outside of the company in her community. Elizabeth is truly deserving of the honor.
CREBA’s “Rising Star Award” was given to Kayma Liburd who wholeheartedly embodies this recognition. Admired by colleagues, clients and even her competitors, Kayma quickly rose the ranks in JLL to Vice President. She is dedicated to her clients and approaches her job with tenacity and poise. In addition to her day job, Kayma is involved in several community organizations all while seeking her Master’s in Real Estate at Georgetown.
JLL’s Greg Lubar, Trip Howell, Amy Bowser and Marshall Durston won the “Leasing Transaction of the Year – DC” award for the 530,000-square-foot lease The Advisory Board signed at 655 New York Avenue. The search for ABC’s new headquarters was a lengthy one that spanned the U.S., but guided by the JLL team, the consulting firm ultimately decided to stay in the District.
Brian Dawson, who represents Hoffman Madison Waterfront LLC, won “Leasing Transaction of the Year – Under 75,000 SF” for the the Fish & Richardson deal, the first law firm to sign one of three office properties at The Wharf. Signing this tenant was particularly significant because it sends the signal that traditional K Street tenants are open to migrating to DC’s hottest new development.
From all of us at JLL, congratulations to Elizabeth, Kayma, Greg, Trip, Amy, Marshall and Brian, for achieving your ambitions both professionally and within your community!
